Designing an end-to-end media event seen and shared by millions
Building on our work for the 2021 Pixel Fall Launch event, we helped Google outdo itself in 2022, giving the Made by Google launch event a brand identity all its own.
We concepted, developed, and tested a visual system that felt less like a tech reveal and more like an experience reveal.
The edgy and sophisticated hardware was represented by crisp lines and thoughtful geometric elements, balanced out by warm lifestyle imagery and dreamy colors.
You know when movie trailers give away too much and you don’t even want to see the movie anymore?
For the lead-up to event day, we designed short, eye-catching teasers that revealed just enough device imagery to get everyone excited, but not so much that the surprise was spoiled.
We created immersive animations and bold visuals to showcase the devices as well as how their features enhance the day-to-day moments of users’ lives.
Each Google device brings its own suite of useful features, but the real appeal is how they all work together to create a Pixel-powered lifestyle. We used a combination of lifestyle and device-focused videos to show the family of devices is better together.
Everything came to life on show day, thanks to a collaboration with the talented people of Codeword, Special Guest, Freeman, MAS, and 1stAveMachine. We worked arm-in-arm with Google onsite in Brooklyn and kept the buzz going afterward with press and social assets.
The event livestream earned 1.4 million views on YouTube, and related social engagements more than doubled that of 2021.
